What to Know
DuPont offers financial protection to you and your family in case something serious happens to you. We cover you with Basic Employee Life and Accidental Death Insurance at 1.5x your annual base pay, through Securian, and also give you the option to buy additional supplemental coverage for yourself and your family.
Basic and Supplemental Employee Life Insurance
DuPont automatically provides you with Basic Employee Life Insurance coverage equal to 1.5x your annual base pay. You do not pay anything for this coverage, and you don’t have to take any enrollment action to receive it.
During Annual Enrollment, you can also choose to:
- Reduce your Basic Employee Life Insurance to $50,000 (if your salary is greater than $50,000). This option is offered at no cost as a tax-free alternative to the Company-provided 1.5x annual base pay coverage.
- Purchase Supplemental Life Insurance coverage for yourself on an after-tax basis (subject to evidence of insurability), up to 7x your annual base pay, and for your spouse/domestic partner and your children. The cost for coverage appears below.

Basic and Supplemental Accident Insurance
DuPont also provides you with Basic Accident Insurance coverage equal to 1.5x your annual base pay. Like Basic Employee Life Insurance, you don’t pay anything for this coverage, and you don’t have to do anything during Annual Enrollment to receive it.
You can choose to purchase Supplemental Accident Insurance each year during Annual Enrollment for yourself, your spouse/domestic partner, and your children.
