Legal Insurance

What to Know

We understand that life can throw curveballs. No matter what your legal issue may be, MetLife’s Legal Insurance is here to help. Through this program, you can access a nationwide network of attorneys for help with everything from estate planning to defense of traffic tickets and more.

How It Works

DuPont provides all employees and their eligible dependents access to Legal Insurance through MetLife. Here’s an overview of how MetLife’s Legal Insurance can help you navigate all your legal issues — big or small:

You can enroll in this benefit during Annual Enrollment and choose from two types of coverage: coverage for yourself, or coverage for you and your family.

The cost for Legal Insurance is automatically deducted from your DuPont paycheck and will vary depending on which coverage level you choose to enroll in:

Monthly Rate
$13.75 per month
Your Family
$19.75 per month

When you enroll in MetLife Legal Insurance, you’ll have access to a team of top attorneys ready to help you take care of life’s planned and unplanned legal events. Legal Insurance is 100% tailored to your needs.

You can work with network attorneys in person, by phone, or by email. You’ll also have access to on-demand tools that make it easy to get legal help — wherever you are. It’s important to note that, through MetLife, you’ll never experience any waiting periods, deductibles, or claim forms when using a network attorney for a covered legal matter. And, for non-covered legal matters that are not otherwise included, your plan will provide four hours of network attorney time and services per year.
